Outreach Activities for Thanksgiving and Christmas

Below you will find a list of the various projects that you and your family are invited to join us in! Food is brought to Rm. 103A. All other items such as: Gift Certificates, Gifts and Christmas Cards are brought to Rm. 106A. Frozen turkeys are brought to the cafeteria only on the specified dates and times.

1. Adopt a Family for Thanksgiving! Determine the amount of money you could spend on a food basket. Use that dollar amount to purchase:  canned soup, canned veggies, macaroni, peanut butter, powdered milk, dried beans, tuna fish, etc. Food items should be put into brown paper bags and brought to BGA Rm. 103A from Oct 10 – Nov. 15, 2019.  When the student signs in, they need to also indicate the amount of money that was spent.   Please remember to send in the receipt for the food purchased.

2. $15.00 (or more) Food Certificates from Shop Rite or Stop & Shop.  Place the certificates into an envelope.
Write your name on the outside of the envelope and bring it to Rm. 106A anytime from Oct 10 – Nov. 18, 2019.  

3. Adopt a Family for Christmas! (food) Determine the amount of money you could spend on a food basket.
Use that dollar amount to purchase:  canned soup, canned veggies, macaroni, peanut butter, powdered milk, dried beans, tuna fish, etc. Food items should be put into brown paper bags and brought to BGA Rm. 103A from Nov 18 - December 13, 2019.  Please remember to send in a receipt. for the food purchased

4. Adopt a Family for Christmas! (gift) – Buy a gift (not to exceed $25) for a child, teen, parent, etc. Once this form is handed in, you will receive the name of the family member you need to buy a gift for.  You should wrap the gift, put the name of the family and the name of the person on the tag.  Bring the gift to rm. 106A from Dec 2 – Dec 11, 2019.  Remember to include the receipt for the gift purchased.

5. $25 gift certificate from Target or Walmart!  These will be given to Catholic Charities and distributed to families in need! Bring the Target /Walmart Gift Cards to Rm. 106A from Dec 2 – Dec 11, 2019.

6. $15.00(or more) Food Certificates from Shop Rite or Stop & Shop.  Place the certificates into an envelope.
Write your name on the outside of the envelope and bring it to Rm. 106a anytime from Nov 18 - December 13, 2019.

7. Send Christmas cards to the residents of the Felician Sisters Care Center.  A list of the names of the sister 
residents will be given to you.  You can send them yourself or you can bring them to Rm. 106a and they will be delivered.  All cards are to be in by Dec. 13 th.  You are encouraged to write the sisters a note about yourself – or at least indicate that you are from St. Thomas Aquinas High School.  They love receiving and reading the cards.

8. Frozen turkeys are brought in on Wednesday and Thursday, November 13th and 14th!  Your child can drop the turkey off in the morning before school in the van outside Rm. 107.  There is also an evening collection on Wednesday – November 14th from 7 – 8:00 p.m.  In the evening, just drive around to the back of the school past the football field to the cafeteria receiving platform.  We will be in the cafeteria waiting for you!  Frozen turkeys’ only – no fresh turkeys!  No hams!  No other days, dates or times!  We don’t have storage space!  Turkeys will not be collected for Christmas
